Supervisor- Fulfillment Technicians

Location: PANTHERx Rare Fulfillment Center; Onsite

Classification: Exempt

Status: Full-Time

Purpose

The Supervisor, Pharmacy Technicians - Fulfillment is responsible for leading the daily operations, performance, compliance, and development of the fulfillment technician team. This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant prescription fulfillment while optimizing workflow, productivity, quality, and patient experience. The supervisor provides direct leadership to pharmacy technicians, drives operational excellence, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and partners closely with pharmacists, inventory, patient services, and organizational leadership to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the fulfillment technician team, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant prescription processing and medication distribution.
• Manage workflow, staffing, scheduling, and workload prioritization to achieve service, quality, and productivity goals.
• Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate pharmacy technicians, including hiring, onboarding, training (in coordinator with the fulfillment trainer), and performance management.
• Monitor operational and quality metrics, identify performance trends, and implement solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and patient service.
• Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, company policies, and quality assurance requirements.
• Serve as a key partner to pharmacists, inventory, patient services, and leadership teams to support seamless fulfillment operations and positive patient outcomes.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, support operational projects, and drive continuous improvement across fulfillment operations.
• Investigate operational issues, quality events, and escalations, implementing corrective actions as appropriate.
• Ensure required licensure, certifications, training, and competency requirements are maintained for all team members.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience holding leadership responsibility within a team.
• Prior experience with common MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams) and common pharmacy software such as CPR+, CareTend or similar systems.
• Registration as a pharmacy technician with the Board of Pharmacy in the state of the position, unless holding a current Pharmacist license in that state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialty pharmacy experience.
• Experience in mail-order or central-fill pharmacy operations.
• Minimum of one (1) year prior supervisory experience.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a well-lit, mail order distribution pharmacy environment. This role routinely uses standard pharmaceutical equipment, computers and safety supplies.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 30 pounds, and utilize the computer and bar code scanner. Must be able to use proper personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves, eye protection, and face masks when needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
